Svechnikov scored 56 seconds into the game and then made it 2-0 with 31 seconds left in the 2nd period. Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis added goals early in the 3rd period. Taylor Hall and Mikko Rantanen each had a primary assist on Svechnikov's goals. It was the 3rd straight win for the Hurricanes over the Rangers this year.
