Despite late rallies from Carolina, the Islanders held strong, sending the Hurricanes into a tailspin over the Holiday break before they return to the ice tomorrow to face Nashville. The Hurricanes have also recalled goaltender Antti Raanta from the Chicago Wolves, to rest Pyotr Kotchekov.
