Chelsea & Wrexham play in Chapel Hill, USWNT enter as World Cup favorites

“WRAL Triangle and Two” hosts Mark Bergin and Louis Fernandez discuss Chelsea and Wrexham playing Wednesday night at Kenan Memorial Stadium in Chapel Hill.

Louis will attend Wednesday night's exhibition. Mark shares his memories of touring Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea plays in London.

The guys also discuss the upcoming Women’s World Cup, which airs on FOX 50 starting Thursday. The U.S. Women’s National Team features three players with local ties: Emily Fox and Crystal Dunn, both of whom played for the University of North Carolina. Also, NC Courage goalkeeper Casey Murphy is among the team’s 23 players. The U.S. women have won the past two World Cups.

Last, the guys discuss Chrisitan Alcaraz’s win in the Wimbledon final on Sunday against Novak Djokovic. Alcaraz, 20, became the third different man in the Open Era (since 1968) to win Wimbledon before his 21st birthday.

Plus, Marketa Vondrousova became the first unseeded player to win Wimbledon. She beat Ons Jabeur in Saturday’s women’s final.
