Broken promise leads to dead end
You may have seen the sign dated 1943 on a windy road in the Smoky Mountains. It’s just outside the Bryson City and reads “Welcome to the Road to Nowhere: A broken promise!” You can follow the road through a dark tunnel, but then it mysteriously ends in the side of a mountain. WRAL’s Hidden History reporter Heather Leah breaks down the mystery for us in this episode.
