Warriors Stifle Timberwolves’ Historic Shooting Slump, Take Game 1 as Curry Exits Early with Injury

Reese, Kmac, Pam and Alex discuss the Warriors win over the Timberwolves in Game 1 and Steph Curry's injury.

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 99–88 in Game 1 of their Western Conference Semifinals matchup last night. The Timberwolves struggled offensively, shooting just 5-of-29 from beyond the arc and scoring a franchise-low 31 points in the first half. The Timberwolves have shot 12-76 from 3 (16%) in their last two games combined which is the worst three-point shooting in the history of the NBA Playoffs. Anthony Edwards led Minnesota with 23 points but acknowledged his own shooting difficulties, starting 0-for-6 from the field.

The Warriors' victory was achieved without the full services of their star player, Stephen Curry, who exited the game in the second quarter due to a hamstring strain after contributing 13 points in 13 minutes. Head coach Steve Kerr expressed concern about Curry's availability for Game 2, stating the team is preparing to play without him. Curry is scheduled to undergo an MRI today.

Game 2 is scheduled for Thursday, May 8, in San Francisco, where the Warriors will aim to extend their series lead, potentially without Curry's presence. How long will Curry be out? Who will win this series?
