Tyler Hansbrough is a North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame 2026 inductee. Hansbrough is a former standout forward at the University of North Carolina and arguably the greatest UNC Tar Heel in UNC basketball history. Hansbrough made his name as one of the most dominant college players of his era with the North Carolina Tar Heels, where he became a four-time All-American and helped lead the program to a national championship in 2009. Known for his physical style, relentless motor and scoring ability in the paint, he went on to play in the NBA after college, including a strong stint with the Indiana Pacers. Now, Hansbrough is being honored as a 2026 inductee into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame, recognizing his impact on basketball in the state at both the college and professional levels.
