Lenwood V. Long, Sr. is the Chief Executive Officer of the African American Alliance of CDFI CEOs, a national coalition representing Community Development Financial Institutions across all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Under his leadership, the Alliance surpassed $1M in fundraising within its first six months and distributed more than $1.1M in grants to members shortly after its launch.
With more than 30 years of experience in community economic development, business management, and organizational leadership, Lenwood has led institutions through transformational growth and strategic change. He is especially recognized for his work supporting African American small businesses, women entrepreneurs, veterans, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
He is the founder of BV&L Associates and previously served as President/CEO of the Carolina Small Business Development Fund, Minority Affairs Assistant to former North Carolina Governor James E. Holshouser, and Chief of Staff to former Congresswoman Eva M. Clayton. A U.S. Army veteran, he holds degrees from St. Augustine’s University and Georgia State University, completed executive education at Harvard Kennedy School, and is a recipient of North Carolina’s Order of the Long Leaf Pine.
