Reese, Kmac, Pam and Alex speak with Coach D. Curtis Lawson of NCCU.

Coach D. Curtis Lawson, the longtime director of tennis and head men’s tennis coach at North Carolina Central University, has been selected for induction into the Black Tennis Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026. The honor recognizes his decades of contributions to the sport and his impact on advancing tennis within the Black community. Lawson has led NCCU’s program for more than 25 years, building a respected program while mentoring student-athletes and promoting the growth of the game. While this distinction is separate from a university-specific athletics hall of fame, it is a significant national recognition within the sport of tennis.
