Duke And NC State Win: Is Cam Boozer The Player Of The Year? How Good Is This Year's Duke Team?

Reese, Pam and Alex discuss whether Duke’s comeback and Cameron Boozer’s standout performance signal a championship-contending team and whether NC State is a threat in the ACC.

The Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball picked up an impressive 84-73 road win over No. 20 Louisville last night, improving to 14-1 overall and 3-0 in ACC play. The No. 6 Blue Devils trailed at halftime but took control in the second half. Cameron Boozer led Duke with 27 points, while Isaiah Evans added 23, as the Blue Devils pulled away late. Is Cam Boozer the player of the year? Is Boozer the ACC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year? Will Boozer be successful at the next level? Is this year’s Duke team championship material?

The NC State Wolfpack earned a solid 79-71 road win over Boston College last night, improving NC State to 11-5 overall and 2-1 in ACC play. The Wolfpack controlled much of the game, taking a 40-32 halftime lead and responding every time Boston College threatened in the second half. The Pack shot extremely well from the perimeter, knocking down 13 three-pointers and using that efficiency to offset BC’s physical play inside. Darrion Williams led NC State with 22 points, including four threes, while Terrance Arceneaux scored 12 off the bench and Matt Able added 11 points. Quadir Copeland chipped in 10 rebounds, helping NC State win the battle on the glass. Was this a good win for NC State?
