James Dolan, owner of the 2026 NBA champion New York Knicks, has a long-standing friendship with President Donald Trump. By accepting a White House invitation on behalf of the team, Dolan has positioned the Knicks to become the first NBA champions to visit Trump during either of his presidential terms. While championship visits to the White House have long been a celebrated tradition, the invitation raises an interesting question: Should the Knicks make the trip, or is a White House visit no longer as simple as celebrating a title?
