Bill Belichick, now the head coach at the University of North Carolina, has banned New England Patriots scouts from attending UNC football practices. The decision stems from what Belichick perceives as poor treatment from the Patriots organization following his departure. He addressed the issue bluntly, saying, “It’s clear that I’m not welcome there around their facility, so they’re not welcome at ours. Pretty simple.”

According to reports, UNC general manager Michael Lombardi and pro liaison Frantzy Jourdain informed Patriots personnel in August that their scouts would no longer have access to practices, although they can still request game film and other information. The move has drawn criticism from analysts and media, who argue that the decision could hurt UNC’s players by limiting their exposure to NFL scouts. Some have even called the ban petty and self-sabotaging, pointing out the potential long-term impact on the program’s draft prospects. Is Belichick right too ban Patriots scouts or is it Belichick just being petty?
