Dennis Cox was born in Alexandria, VA, and grew up near Charlottesville in a small town called Crozet. Before joining Capitol Broadcasting, Dennis was a collegiate women’s lacrosse coach.
Dennis wears many hats in the sports world, both on and off the airwaves:
- Co-host of Panthers Playbook, a series from 99.9 The Fan that covers the Carolina Panthers
- Producer of The Drive with Tim Donnelly, weekday afternoons on 99.9 The Fan
- Social media correspondent for FanDuel Sports Network South’s coverage of Carolina Hurricanes hockey
- Freelance play-by-play announcer for East Carolina University women's lacrosse, soccer, and volleyball
When not producing sports content, Dennis plays men’s league hockey and enjoys the outdoors (camping, hiking, backpacking, or lying in a hammock). He also collects comic books, plays video games and has done improv for eight years. He loves riding his motorcycle, AND takes pride in his world-class focaccia bread, all while being a sneakerhead. (Seriously, check out his Instagram for a daily look at his shoes.)
