Niederreiter's 2-point night leads Canes over Blue Jackets, 4-0.
The Hurricanes dominated the Columbus Blue Jackets in a 4-0 win. In spite of a great first period, the Canes and Columbus were scoreless through the first 20 minutes. But, second period goals from Jordan Staal and Teuvo Teravainen gave the Hurricanes a 2-0 lead. Then Nino Niederreiter and Vincent Trocheck scored 36 seconds apart in the opening two minutes of the 3rd period to hand the rest over to Frederik Andersen. Carolina's 76 points are the best in the NHL's Eastern Conference
