Canes' self-inflicted wounds send opening round series to a deciding seventh game on Saturday night. Carolina goes scoreless on 4 2nd period power plays, including nearly a minute of a 5-on-3, in the 5-2 loss. Andrei Svechnikov scored early in the 3rd to trim the Bruins's lead to 2-1, but back-to-back turnovers led to Boston goals and the Hurricanes never recovered. Svechnikov scored twice in the loss and Antti Raanta played very well in spite of allowing four goals. This will be the 6th Game 7 for the Hurricanes in their history, the first on home ice since the 2006 Stanley Cup Finals. Carolina is 5-0, all time, in Game 7's. If that matters.
