Spencer Martin made 30 saves in Carolina's 3-2 shootout loss to the Sabres.  Carolina twice gave away a 1-goal lead before dragging the game into overtime to earn a point.  Tony DeAngelo scored inside of 3 minutes to give the Canes the lead.  It was his first goal since December 15th and just his 3rd of the season.  Martin Necas scored on the power play with just over 5 minutes left in regulation.  But, neither lead was safe for a Hurricanes team that was clearly mentally tired from a grueling week.
