Antti Raanta made 23 saves, and fellow Fins Sebastion Aho and Teuvo Teravainen each had a goal and an assist as Carolina won for the second time in 27 hours in a 3-2 win over the Devils. Carolina beat Boston, 3-2, on the road on Wednesday and are now just 2 points behind the Rangers in the Metro. Jordan Staal's deflection goal came 25 seconds after Teravainen's 2nd period power play tally and snapped a 14 game goal-scoring drought for the captain.
