Antti Raanta made 24 saves as the Hurricanes tied a franchise record with their 9th consecutive win. Martin Necas, Jesper Fast and Jordan Martinook each had goals as the Canes beat the Blackhawks, 3-0. It was the second time this year that Carolina beat Chicago 3-0. The last time, on November 14 at the United Center, it was Pyotr Kochetkov's 1st NHL shutout. Tonight it was Raanta's first clean sheet of the season. It's the 5th time the Hurricanes have won 9 in a row, the last coming in the first 9 games of last season. By the way, last year's streak was snapped by the Florida Panthers. Carolina is off until Friday when they welcome in -- wait for it -- the Florida Panthers.
