Carolina Hurricanes: Morning After not closing the deal against Vancouver

Canucks beat Canes in shootout, 4-3
The Carolina Hurricanes blew a 2-0 first period lead, then a 3-2 lead in the closing seconds of regulation before falling, 4-3, in a shootout to the Vancouver Canucks. Paul Stastny and Jordan Martinook scored first period goals to stake the Canes to the 2-goal lead even though it wasn't by any measure a well-played period. Vancouver brought one goal back in the 2nd period and then leveled the score 7 1/2 minutes into the 3rd. But, Sebastian Aho's goal with just under 3 minutes left should have been the game-winner. I said "should have", it was not. Brock Boeser tied the game with 17 seconds left and then Elias Pettersson won it in the shooout. The Canes have now played an NHL leading 15 overtime games this year with a 7-8 record after regulation.
