Artemi Panarin scored 4 goals, 3 in a decisive third period as the Rangers beat the Hurricanes 6-2 at PNC Arena. The loss ended Carolina's 7 game winning streak and trimmed their lead over the Devils to 3 points in the Metropolitan Division. The Canes led 2-1 on goals from Teuvo Teravainen and Jesperi Kotkaniemi until Panarin's 1st goal, with just over 2:00 remained in the 2nd period. From that point on, the Hurricanes sort of fell apart. Panarin's 2nd of the night was the product of a Vincent Trocheck steal and proved to be the game winner. Carolina is off until playing in Washington on Tuesday.
