Carolina Hurricanes: Morning After Aho caps royal comeback in 5-4 OT win over Kings

Sebastian Aho's OT extends Canes streak to 6 straight

Sebastian Aho's 22nd goal of the year capped a 4-goal comeback as the Carolina Hurricanes won for the 6th straight time. The Canes entered the 3rd period trailing 4-1 after an utterly disastrous 2nd period. Carolina was a puck management and decision-making catastrophe in the middle frame and the mistakes cost them on 3 of the four goals -- at least. But, similarly to Friday's win over the Sharks, this team doesn't understand that sometimes it's just not your night. And, when Paul Stastny potted a rebound of a Derek Stepan shot 3 1/2 minutes into the 3rd period, you could sense the difference. Jordan Staal scored 6 minutes later to draw within 1. Then Teuvo Teravainen's power play goal leveled the score. Freddie Andersen won his 6th straight decision since returning from injury. Canes are in Buffalo Wednesday night as they close out the pre All Star Game portion of the schedule.
