Carolina Hurricanes: Andersen leads Canes to 2-1 win over Pens

Canes beat Pens, 2-1, behind Andersen and the penalty kill
Freddie Andersen made 34 saves as the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Pittsburgh Penguins, 2-1, Saturday night at PNC Arena. In fact, Andersen was so good that only he could score into his net. Rickard Rakell's 3rd period power play goal was really more of an epic gaffe by Andersen. About 50 seconds into a 3rd period power play, Penguins star Sidney Crosby lofted a puck high into the air towards the Carolina net. Andersen gloved it but rather than accept a defensive zone face off he tried to flip it up in the air with his glove and bat the puck out of the zone. Alas, the puck was redirected by Rakell into the net for the goal -- the only one Pittsburgh would muster Saturday night. Brady Skjei and Jalen Chatfield each also scored for Carolina who will host Vancouver Sunday afternoon at 5:00
