The Hurricanes beat the Flyers, 4-1, using hard work, solid goaltending and steady play throughout the lineup. Michael Bunting and Brendan Lemieux each filled in for Andrei Svechnikov, who missed the game due to an illness. Bunting subbed for Svech on the top line and scored the game's first goal. Lemieux drew into the lineup for the first time in 8 games and scored his 2nd goal of the year to break a 1-1 tie in the 2nd period. Pyotr Kotchetkov stopped 27 shots and Seth Jarvis and Jasper Kotkaniemi added late 3rd period goals in the win.
