The Carolina Hurricanes lost to the New York Islanders, 5-4, in the final game before Santa loads up his sleigh.  Pyotr Kochetkov struggled in net and his team didn't protect him enough to minimize the damage as the Canes saw their 6-game point streak come to a close.  Teuvo Teravainen, Sebastian Aho, Jaccob Slavin and Stefan Noesen each scored and Andrei Svechnikov notched two assists in the loss.  Carolina is off until Wednesday when they will play in Nashville.
