After a dominant defensive performance in the first period, the Carolina Hurricanes were undone by a Tampa Bay Lightning power play explosion in an 8-2 loss at PNC Arena.  Tampa hit the Canes with power play goals three times in a 4:20 span of the 2nd period that saw Carolina's 1-0 lead dissolve into a 2-goal defecit before 6 minutes were gone in the frame.  The Hurricanes would pull one back on a Michael Bunting power play marker late in the period, but Tampa scored 5 unanswered in the 3rd period as they ran away and hid from the Hurricanes.  Carolina will close out a 5-game home stand on Sunday at 5:00 against the Blue Jackets
