Canes open preseason with a 5-2 win

Tony DeAngelo had a goal and assist and both Canes goaltenders played well in a 5-2 win over the Lightning. Former second round pick Noel Gunler scored on a breakaway and 18-year old winger Felix Unger-Sorum also played well and were among Carolina's best players on the ice. The Canes will take on the Florida Panthers at PNC Arena on Wednesday in their second preseason game.
