Canes kill off Blackhawks, 5-2

Jackson Blake had a goal and an assist and Sebastian Aho scored a shorthanded goal as the Canes beat the Blackhawks, 5-2, in Chicago. Mark Jankowski opened the scoring with just under a minute left in the opening period -- his 3rd goal in the last 3 games -- before Aho put home his 5th of the season early in the 2nd period. It was Carolina's second straight game with a shorthanded goal and gives them as many goals shorthanded (2) and they have allowed power play goals through the first 6 games. Blake followed 79 seconds later with his 1st goal of the season. Taylor Hall and Jordan Martinook would close out the scoring. Brandon Bussi, who struggled in each of his last two starts, was sharp from the start. He made 24 saves in the win and is now 2-1-1 on the season.
