The Canes scored a goal, Sebastian Aho's 18th of the season, but they still fell short in a 2-1 loss to the Wild. The Canes gave up an early goal in the 1st and 3rd periods to fall behind, 2-0. But, even with nearly 40 shots on Minnesota goaltender Filip Gustavsson, they could muster the Aho goal, which came with their net empty in the final 3 minutes of regulation. Aho, Mikko Rantanen and Jackson Blake combined for 13 chances - including the latter's penalty shot opportunity in the 2nd period - but it wasn't until the Canes had the extra attacker that they were able to break through.
